I make art for you...

My dear friend, Brittany, used to say that to me all the time. She would draw me the most imaginative monsters and creepy things, then hand them to me saying (in a Russian accent), "I make art for you."

Well, I make art for my girls!

We're having to do some rearranging in the nursery to accommodate both the girls, so I decided to make a piece of art for the walls. Clearly, we have Beatles theme going on with their names, so I thought I would stay true to that...

Do you recognize this? Which album cover does it resemble??

I am having it printed on a gallery wrapped canvas so it will look very polished. And its HUGE! Its going to be 4oin x 40in! Oh, I just can't wait for it to be printed! I'll post pics of the girls' room when its complete.

And the name is.....

So you obviously know that I have a Lucy Olivia, right? Do you know why she is Lucy Olivia? Well, let me tell you...

Kyle is a huge football (European football = Soccer) and his favorite team is Liverpool. Its mine too, just 'cause. Anyway, last April we were able to go to Liverpool to see a live match: Liverpool v Blackburn. Liverpool won 3-1. It was an amazing experience!

But who goes to Liverpool without experiencing all things Beatles, right? We went to the Beatles Museum, took the Magical Mystery Tour, and of course visited the Cavern. Ahh... I LOVE the Beatles.

Well, a couple weeks after we returned from our amazing vacation abroad, we found out we were going to have a baby. 9 mo. later we had little Lucy. You do the math... We felt it was only appropriate to name her after a Beatles song being as she was conceived in Liverpool :-) Like I said... It was an amazing vacation, hee hee! Hence Lucy, from Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Her middle name is Olivia after my little sister and absolutely best friend in the whole world.

Well, when we found out we were pregnant with baby #2, we decided we wanted to keep with the theme. We like themes, our puppies are named June and Cash, after Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash... So, what else would we name we name a little girl? Penny, of course! I have always loved the name Penny and it is just perfect with her big sister Lucy. Her middle name will be Lane... How could it not be? Not only does it just sound right but my other best friend in the entire world is Lane! I have know Lane since I was 2 and she is practically my sister. Love her!

Well there you have it! Miss Penny Lane will make her debut early 2010. We can't wait! Feel free to let me know how much you love the name ;-) If you don't so much like it... Well you can keep that you yourself.

Happy Birthday to me!

...And my little sis, Olivia! That's right, Olivia and I have the same birthday, only 2 years apart! My mom was delivering my little sister during my 2nd birthday! I have to say it has been the absolute best thing over the last 24 years. I would not have it any other way! We always had the best birthday parties: pirate parties, treasure hunts, pool parties, sleep overs, ponies... Even when we were old enough to choose not to have parties together, we still did!

This year we had a super fun party on Saturday night. There was lots of food, friends, and fun! My best friend, Katie, from college and her boyfriend, Alun, came up from Dallas. So did my my good friend, Jessi, and her husband, Phil. All my best friends from Dallas and Tulsa were all there! My dad made his famous ribs (delish), Jared made yummy potato salad, Johanna made beans, and I made creme pies from scratch! It was sooo fantastic! My mom decorated with sunflowers and rooster napkins, it was adorable! My parents and friends rock!!!! Mom took pictures so I will post those soon. But for now here's a little gem to tide you over... Lucy devouring a rib!

We're having a...

YAY! After an extremely long day of waiting to cut in to our gender cake, we finally found out we're having another little girl around 10:00pm last night! My parents, little sister & her fiance, and two of my best friends were all there to share in the surprise. It was so amazing! Definitely worth the wait!!!

I was so excited, I forgot to take pictures... But, my mom did! So I will post those soon! Thanks to everyone who voted in my poll! You guys were right: GIRL! Check out the results the the left... It was really close but girl came out ahead... By 1 vote!

Well, I could not be more excited if I tried! I can't wait to watch my 2 little girls playing together! We have a name picked out and we LOVE it! Want to know what it is?

Its a GIRL!

Or at least that's going to be my guess come this Friday!

Remember this post? I really had no feeling at that point, if the little one inside me is a girl or a boy. Now, I don't know why, but I just have a feeling its an other little girl. I keep accidentally refering to the baby as a girl too! :-) We have names picked out for both and they are just perfect! I can't wait to be able to talk to my little one and call it by name! Healthy is all the matters, so I don't care one way or the other... I just have a sense that its a girl. I was wrong with Lucy, though... So we'll see on Friday, I guess!

We go in for our big ultrasound at 8am Friday morning, so excited! However, we are not going to find out boy or girl right away... This weekend is my birthday and I have several of my best girlfriends coming in town. I wanted for them to be a part of the fun, so Kyle and I have decided to use some extreme self control and wait until the evening to reveal the gender.

We will have the u/s technician write the baby's gender down and seal it in an envelope. We will then take the seal envelope to Mallory's Mud Pies (yum! so delish!!!) and they are going to make us a special cake. The outside frosting and decorations will be gender neutral, but the inside reveals the surprise! The buttercream filling will be either pink or blue!! So when we cut into the cake we all will find out boy or girl together!!!

Don't worry, I will post the outcome ASAP after we find out! But I want to know... What's your guess?? Girl has been leading my poll the entire time, but its close! Who thinks girl? Boy?

Bouncy, bouncy!

Lucy LOVES her Graco Jumper seat! She has loved to bounce in it since she was a little baby. Now, she can really get going!! She bounces so high and swings back and forth while just giggling away! I love it too because it entertains her for good chunks of time... I can clean the kitchen or make dinner. So nice!

We hang ours from the door jam in our kitchen so we can easily keep and eye on her (always watch your baby while in a bouncy seat!) It seriously provides endless entertainment for everyone!! If you don't have a Bouncy seat, I totally recommend you get one! We like the Graco Jumper and it has high safety ratings (We have the Jumpster Jungle Jubilations which is no longer in stock at Baby R Us... but they have others!) Try and avoid getting a jumper that has toys attached to it... they can come off and become choking hazards!
