Fall is so fun... WAY more fun when you have a baby, let me tell you! Its so amazing to watch the little one experience all things fall for the first time... Costumes, hot chocolate (just a sip of mommy's), piles and piles of leaves to jump in, football with daddy, soccer games, trips to the zoo, pumpkin patches, and PUMPKINS, PUMPKINS, PUMPKINS!!
We took Lucy to the cutest pumpkin patch the other evening. YiaYia and Papou (my parents) tagged along, too. Lucy loved all the pumpkins, she kept trying to eat them, HA! She rode around in a wagon, loved it! She felt like such a big girl, you could tell. There was also a small petting zoo, Lucy definitely got a kick out of that! She loved the little rabbits and the goat. She loves animals! We bought a few pumpkins to decorate with and a couple tiny ones for Lucy :-) YiaYia snapped this adorable pic, don't you love it?
Yesterday, YiaYia (my mom) and I took Lucy to the zoo for the first time. It was a beautiful day here and YiaYia just couldn't resist the opportunity to take some pictures of little miss. Lucy wasn't too sure about the zoo at first, but once she started seeing the animals, she had a blast!
We went to check out the chimps first but they were no where to be found, so we headed into the Arctic Tundra House. There we saw 2 snow owls and 3 swift foxes. The owls were beautiful, but Lucy couldn't really see them. She spotted the foxes though and said, "Wow, wow, wow!" She was smiling and giggling at them. YiaYia even got her to say, "Fox!" So awesome!!
Next, we headed into the Southwest Desert House. Gross. It smelled so awful we basically ran out! YiaYia and I were gagging. Ew. By this time, the chimps had come out to play in the yard! There were 5 adult chimps and 2 babies. The babies were absolutely darling! They were so fun to watch. They rolled and tumbled (instead of just walking normal) from place to place... So funny! Lucy LOVED the chimps! She was clapping and screaming! She would giggle when the babies would perform!
We then walked through the Rainforest House. YiaYia and I liked it, but Lucy was kind of bored. She couldn't really see anything. Next up were the Siberian Tigers. Once Lucy was able to focus on them she lit up, saying, "Cat, cat!" She really is a genius, I swear :-)
Across from the tigers were the penguins. I loved the penguins, Lucy was nonplus about them... I guess they're not that exciting for a 10 month old ;-) YiaYia was able to snap this incredible picture of Lucy and a Gentoo penguin!
We ended the field trip with a visit to the flamingos, which are my personal favorite! I think that if I were an animal, I would be a flamingo :-) They were so darn cute. They were stomping around in mud puddles... It looked like they were dancing!
We had such a fun time showing Lucy around the zoo. It was a great way to spend a beautiful afternoon! I just love monkeying around with my favorite little chimp!
My mom took all these amazing pics yesterday. You can see more of her work at LSDphotography.

I can't believe how big you are :-)
Hello World! My MIL was in town last week, therefore I was too busy to post... Sorry!
How lucky am I to get to see this sweet face every morning?
It has been super crazy around here lately! Lucy is really getting the hang of walking! I'm betting she will be a pro at it by Halloween. I keep trying to capture her steps on video to post for y'all, but she always gets camera shy!! I'll keep trying... Maybe tonight :-)
Speaking of Halloween, we got Luce her first Halloween costume yesterday. We have had the hardest time deciding on a costume for her, but yesterday we came across the cutest DUCK costume I've ever seen. She'll be the sweetest duck on the block, for sure! Its perfect because Lucy's first REAL word (besides Mama, Dada, Uh-Oh, and the like) was DUCK.
Everyday Lucy does something new and incredible to just blow me away! She shocked me the other day by pulling herself up on the ottoman, letting go, taking 3 steps over to her rubber ducky, picking it up and saying, "DUCK!" I almost fell over! What a big girl! Just so you know this was not a fluke... This weekend Lucy was at Borders with her YiaYia & Papou (my parents) and was looking at a picture book with Spanish words. When she turned the page to the duck, she got really excited and said, clear as day, "DUCK!" My mom said she was just amazed at how clearly she said the word! Well, of course... Lucy is a genius! ;-)
We also got Lucy a baby doll at Target yesterday. We want her to practice being sweet with it, so she is gentle with her little sister when she gets here. So far, it hasn't really worked out as planned... Yesterday she was trying to chew on the baby's head. Today, she stole the baby's binky then threw her across the room! I guess we have some practicing to do... Haha! I hope she get the hang of it before January!
I hope everyone had a fun weekend! We had a blast with family and friends! I'll post about that later. For now, just enjoy this little cutie!!
