Oh how I love my Central Park...

Central Park Outdoor Blanket + Cooler Bag

(via site)

Wherever you roam, Central Park is ready for the beach, park, or playtime at home! Once you reach your destination, it unfolds into a spacious 5' x 5' water resistant blanket, keeping everyone's picnic clean and dry. This versatile blanket features an insulated cooler bag to chill snacks and drinks; there's even room for mom and dad's essentials. Detach the cooler bag and it's a compact messenger for quick trips to the ice cream stand! (via site)

This is my latest obsession. The Central Park is the perfect summer accessory if you have little munchkins (or even if you don't!) As soon as we got it in the shop, I knew I must have it! I could just see all the picnics it would attend... So far it has not let me down!

We use it in the house as well as outside. We have had many a tea parties with Lucy and tons of tummy-time with Penny on it! We took it to the zoo last weekend and had our ice cream break on it under a shady tree. It was so convenient to have a compact blanket that I could just throw over my shoulder. We have had fun with it not so far from home too... Nothing like a picnic lunch in the back yard with the midgets and the pups!

Here are some details about the Central Park: (via site)

   • Spacious, lightweight 5' x 5' blanket; Easy to fold & compact.
   • BPA-Free, Phthalate-Free, PVC-Free
   • Insulated cooler bag holds food & drinks; Add an ice pack for a full day out
   • Unzip cooler bag and convert to a compact messenger/cooler bag
   • Carry blanket on the shoulder or convert to a backpack
   • Cushy surface wipes clean; Machine washable
   •  Dimensions (inches):
       Closed: 15 wide x 15 high x 3 deep
       Open blanket: 60" wide x 60" deep
       Cooler bag: 11.5 wide x 11.5 high x 2 deep

You have lots of cool options with the Central park: (via site)

It is super easy to fold and store: (via site)

Its easy to switch around: (via site)

And it comes in two rad patterns/color options: (via site)

It is my favorite item of the summer (so far!) I totally recommend it!

You can get it on the Ding-Bats website here!

I was not asked to do this review and I am receiving nothing for it, just telling you about the things I love :-)

So Exciting!

As you might have figured out by now... I'm a baby gear JUNKIE. I have a problem, I fully admit it and embrace it. My house is full of the coolest stuff for kids. Of course we have our fair share of Fisher Price and Playskool, but my favorite stuff is from my favorite place.

I said this before and I'll say it again, thank goodness I have Ding-Bats and Nicole!

Ding-Bats is Tulsa's premier baby boutique. We specialize in unique products and offer a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. We are the only locally owned and operated shop the offers full service, maintenance and ongoing training for all our gear (strollers & car seats, high chairs, etc.) (via site)

I can't live without all the great Skip*Hop, Hoppop, Beaba, (the list goes on and on) products. And neither should YOU!

We are extremely pleased and excited to announce that we have just launched our new website that includes e-Commerce!!!!! Its like the 4th most exciting day of my life (behind Lucy's birth day, Penny's birth day, and my wedding day :-) obvi) I hope you enjoy the little site and find wonderful things you must have for your little ones!

Side note: I have virtually everything in the store (I told you I have a problem!) So, if you have any questions, just ask! I'm going to be featuring some of my favorite products soon, stay tuned!

Bon Anniversaire

Happy 31st Anniversary to my loving, wonderful, wise and generous parents!

You guys are the best parents in the world (srsly, I took a poll...) I love you very much and hope that you have many, many more years together to drive each other crazy :-)

I'm such a Mom...

This is embarrassing, but funny, so I'll share...

Last night we had the music on so Lucy could dance around. Its her absolute favorite thing to do. She is hilarious and comes up with some pretty creative dance moves. Some, however, I'm pretty sure I saw on the last Ludacris music video... Scary :-/

Anyway, I was dancing around the family room with Lucy and was getting quite the work out.  So I skipped out for a second to get some water. I walked through the dining room which is connected to the kitchen... Kyle was sitting at the dining room table studying for the GMAT, so I thought I'd do a sexy little dance move for him. You know, just 'cause ;-) Well, I did and he BUSTED out laughing! UGH!

So, I sulked off to the next room to soothe my wounded ego when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror...

My hair is a mess, no shoes, yoga pants and a tank top with no bra (are you detecting a theme here?) AND the coup de grâce : big ol' milk stain from a leaky boobie... SO HOT!

Ahhhh, the joys of being a mommy :-)

Le sigh...............

sTuck in the Coop

Have you guys seen this shop on Etsy? sTuck in the Coop has the CUTEST personalized metal jewelry! I am in love with so many of the pieces... Too many :-) But here are some of my favorites (just in case Hubs is reading wink, wink)

Family Charms Mixed Metal Collection - This is just so cool. I don't think I'd ever take it off. I would be quite proud to show it off with all of my little family represented on it! And you could add to it as your family grows ;-)

Mama Bird Nest with Personalized Eggs -  How sweet is this? I love the little eggs. I can just see it with my little chickies names on them :-)

Copper Mama Bird and her Eggs - Variation on the theme, but still so cute! I love the bird with "Mama" on it! I am the Mama bird after all!

Mix it Up Trio Mixed Metal Collection - One of the neatest one of these I've seen. I love the combo of silver and cooper. It makes it really special.

Well, I'm going to go back and obsess over this shop some more... Goodbye productive evening :-)

OH, and The Undomesticated Momma is having a giveaway for a $60 gift certificate to sTuck in the Coop! Go Taylor! Thanks so much for the giveaway and for introducing me to this shop! My Hubs probably doesn't thank you, though... ;-)

My Little Olivia.

My darling baby sister was married on Saturday!

(sophia • LSDPhotography)

I have been searching for the right things to say about her here on the ol' blog, and the words just aren't coming. I think I said it best in the toast I gave at the reception, so I think I'll just post that. I love that girl more than I could ever express in words, but here's the best I could do...

–––––––––

As most of you know, Olivia and I share the same birthday, two years apart.  So, from the moment she was born we have held a bond with each other in all things.  There is not one memory I have from my childhood that Olivia is not a part of. As her sister, I know her better than anyone in the world and it is my highest honor to call her my best friend.

Olivia is intelligent, reliable, considerate and gentle. However, her first sentence to me would lead you to believe otherwise.  When we were 2 and 4, Olivia was convinced my name was “Whatty.” Being the bright young lady she was, she derived that this was my name because when I would call out “Mommy!” our mom would respond with, “Whatty?” So, as an older sister will often do, I was torturing Olivia over some toy and her final words over ownership of the toy was “Me. Kick. You. In. Butt. Whatty!” Eventually, she learned that my name was Jessica, and despite that brief set back, we have remained extremely close over the years. I could not have asked for a better sister in my life and I feel so lucky that my two daughters have such a wonderful Aunt. Olivia, people will tell you that you have never looked more beautiful than you do on your wedding day… But to me, you are this beautiful everyday. I will always be here for you and I love you more than you will ever know.

We have been blessed to be sisters. And, we have been even luckier to have such wonderful parents. Our parents have given their time, their tears, and certainly their money to make sure that Olivia and I were taken care of. As I look at how beautiful this wedding is and how magical our childhood was, I am overwhelmed with gratitude that I can stand here and talk about the amazing woman Olivia has become because of the efforts of our Mom and Dad. We love you and thank you so much for being incredible parents.

And, as Olivia is now part of a new family, we welcome Bob to become a part of ours. Bob is the perfect match for Olivia, and I am so happy they found each other. Bob is intelligent, charming, and considerate in a way that both compliments his wife and makes you respect him on his own merits. He comes from a wonderful family and has integrated himself well into ours. I am very happy that Bob is now my brother-in-law. I wish nothing more than for Olivia and Bob to have an amazing life together.

So, with that being said I will offer a few pieces of advice about marriage that I have learned along the way…

• Remember, Bob, that sometimes watching “Dancing with the Stars” is a fair trade off for the eight straight hours of college football on Saturdays.
•Remember, Olivia, that Bob does understand that Texas Tech losing is not the really the end of the world. It just feels like it at the moment.
• Travel and explore the world together. If you can survive airport terminals, lost luggage and your reservation being under the wrong name in a foreign country, there is nothing you can’t accomplish as a couple.
• Kiss as often as you can. There is nothing sweeter than a brief moment that only the two of you can share.  Especially after you have kids!
• Remember to call each other in the middle of the day, just to say, “I love you.”
• Find your own traditions. Your marriage will be stronger for the things you make time to do with each other.
• Understand that today is the first day of a beautiful journey for the two of you. Olivia, you will find yourself falling in love with Bob all over again on some random afternoon while he’s just mowing the lawn. Bob, you will be over come with emotion on some random evening just looking at Olivia. So, always be growing in your love for each other. It makes the journey so much more worthwhile.

Today we celebrate the two of you as you start your life together. And, above all things, I wish you both a lifetime of love, luck, health and happiness. Here’s to Bob and Olivia!!

i ♥ faces

Came across this little contest today... Very cool. The blog is I ♥ faces and they host a weekly contest. I don't think you win anything, but its still fun to see if other people think you're as good as a photographer as you think you are like your pictures ;-)

Listen, I am certainly no LSD Photographer... They are just simply the best. (I get nothing from that blatant plug, other than maybe a free meal from my momma... hint hint, Sophia) But with a subject as cute as Lucy, you can't help be get some pretty great pics :-)

This week the theme for the entries was FLOWERS. So with no further ado...

Bloggy Award!

So my new bloggy friend, Emily, gave me my FIRST blog award today! Wow that certainly made me smile after the day I have had... Whew, it was whacky!

First, lets talk about how my house nearly caught on fire today...

It was a rare moment in my house hold where I actually had a moment to myself. Lucy was eating her lunch and Penny was asleep, so I snuck away to go do my make-up. I had no more than started my foundation when the power started flickering on and off. And on and off, and on and of... Like Poltergeist style, seriously. I went to go look out the front door to see if the transformer was going to blow, when I heard some snap, crackle, pops and my dogs going NUTS in the backyard. Off I go to investigate. Oh, and no big deal, the power lines were on fire, that's all...

I ran inside (with the dogs) and grabbed the girls and my cell phone and called 911. While I am talking to the fire department the freaking power lines snap and explode and land in the yard! The fireman show up and naturally they are super good looking, and I don't have on any make-up... Or a bra. They check things out and call PSO to come fix the lines. By now, my dad had shown up to help me wrangle the girls and dogs so we can go over to my parents house since we don't have any power. The fireman mistake my DAD for my HUSBAND... Ew. And I still don't have a bra on.

The firemen say they will stay until PSO gets there to make sure nothing else happens, so the girls and I leave to head over to my parents. Once I get them settled there, I returned back to my house to get somethings and check on the situation... And the firemen ;-) When I get back I find the firemen fighting a FIRE! My neighbors shed had caught on fire from a spark! CRAZY!!!

We finally have power again and hopefully things will settle down a little bit... But I doubt it seeing as my baby sister is getting MARRIED on Saturday! :-)

And now on to the good part of my day...

Emily could not have picked a better day to give me an award! What a sweetie!! Thank you so much :-) Emily and I were both Thetas... Different schools and different years, but Thetas all the same!

I would like to pass this award on to:

Megan - of course, because she's super fab and I love her :-)
Katie - because she always makes me laugh with her comments, and Molly is stinkin' cute.
Lindsey - because she is so nice and I miss her, and she was a Theta!
Erin - because she has the CUTEST little girl, Vivi, with the sweetest smile. Oh, and she was a Theta too!

The only rules are:
You have to pass it on!
Also, link back to the person who gave it to you so we can keep visiting new GREAT blogs!

Happy Mother's Day!

My most favorite thing in the entire world is being a mommy! I am so thankful for my midgets and can't believe how lucky I am to have them :-)

Its Mother's Day and I could post a bunch of pictures of me, because I am pretty awesome and all... But I figured I'll post some of my favorites of the little ones that made me a momma. Besides, they're way cuter!

Can you tell which one is which in some of those? I guess we don't have to worry about what Penny is going to look like :-)

It goes without saying, that I would not be a mommy, if it weren't for MY mommy! I love you, momma! You are the greatest mom and even better yia yia!!

AND... Happy Mothers Day to all of you mommies out there!
Especially to Megan, Katie, Erin, Lindsey, Crystal, Maggie, Heidi, & Kenzi!

Lucy & Penny

This is a re-post, but Kelly is having a SUYL baby names link-up today and I thought I'd re-share... Besides, it was about this time, 2 years ago, we got back from Liverpool to find out we were going to have baby #1... And about 1 year ago, we found out we were going to have baby #2!! Yipee!!!

 Photobucket

––––––––––––––––––––––––
So you obviously know that I have a Lucy Olivia, right? Do you know why she is Lucy Olivia? Well, let me tell you...

Kyle is a huge football (European football = Soccer) and his favorite team is Liverpool. Its mine too, just 'cause. Anyway, last April we were able to go to Liverpool to see a live match: Liverpool v Blackburn. Liverpool won 3-1. It was an amazing experience!

But who goes to Liverpool without experiencing all things Beatles, right? We went to the Beatles Museum, took the Magical Mystery Tour, and of course visited the Cavern. Ahh... I LOVE the Beatles.

Well, a couple weeks after we returned from our amazing vacation abroad, we found out we were going to have a baby. 9 mo. later we had little Lucy. You do the math... We felt it was only appropriate to name her after a Beatles song being as she was conceived in Liverpool :-) Like I said... It was an amazing vacation, hee hee! Hence Lucy, from Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Her middle name is Olivia after my little sister and absolutely best friend in the whole world.

Well, when we found out we were pregnant with baby #2, we decided we wanted to keep with the theme. We like themes, our puppies are named June and Cash, after Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash... So, what else would we name we name a little girl? Penny, of course! I have always loved the name Penny and it is just perfect with her big sister Lucy. Her middle name will be Lane... How could it not be? Not only does it just sound right but my other best friend in the entire world is Lane! I have know Lane since I was 2 and she is practically my sister. Love her!

Well there you have it! Miss Penny Lane will make her debut early 2010. We can't wait! Feel free to let me know how much you love the name ;-) If you don't so much like it... Well you can keep that to yourself :-)

What do you think we'd name a boy, if we have one?
